COMEDIAN GEORGE LOPEZ FOLLOWS DEMOCRACIA U.S.A. LEADERSHIP
Shinning the path on Nevada’s voter registration efforts recently one bright and early Saturday morning, was Democracia-U.S.A.’s (D-USA) Nevada team leading the way, beckoning Comedian George López in search for a large Latino audience.
No one knows better how to get to the heart of Nevada’s bustling Hispanic shoppers than D-USA, who regularly reach out to folks conducting voter registration drives every Saturday morning at Mariana’s supermarket, a popular Latino grocery store located in North Las Vegas.
Leading the efforts of Nevada’s “¡Ya Es Hora!” (It’s Time) campaign, an award-winning civic engagement campaign spearhead by Univision Communications, Inc. (the nation’s leading Spanish-language media company), is D-USA’s Nevada Coordinator Marco Rauda.
“We’ve been working really hard with other groups and organizations,” he said, “and we receive really good reaction. They hear about ‘¡Ya Es Hora!’ on their TVs or radios and so they know that’s a safe place that they can go to register their votes.” Rauda also shared positive community feedback where people say they trust D-USA’s voter registration cards will be into the Clark County Elections Department in a timely manner and knowing they will receive their voter registration card in the mail. “If not, those folks know they can always call us and we will help them to follow-through.”
Integrity. Accountability. And plain, old-fashioned “roll-up-your-sleeves” hard work. That’s why Nevada’s Latino community follows D-USA, and why a big star like Comedian George López does, too!
