Democracia USA unveils the mystery of the “infamous machine”
Democracia USA canvassers are determined to assure that all Hispanics that are eligible to vote do so. Now that we are nearing the most important date, November 4th, efforts are being doubled and canvassers are not only educating and registering Hispanics to vote but also vanishing any doubts and insecurities that new voters may have when heading to the polls.
Human beings many times fear the unknown. In this same manner then the infamous machine so frequently mentioned in the media causes fear and doubt in many new voters. Because of this reason, Democracia USA canvassers are hitting the streets and the community service centers in Central Pennsylvania and the Lehigh Valley with an electronic voting machine for demonstration.
The machine consists of an electronic panel similar to the one that will be utilized on Election Day. The new voter makes his/her selection and presses the green vote button and hears the same sound he/she will hear on election day. The machine allows the new voter to practice how to vote. The response has been phenomenal. New voters are surprised to learn how simple the machine really is and how easy it is to vote.
Now nothing can stop us- we are eligible, we are registered and we know how to vote!
